Every time someone wants to access their Dinghy account, instead of having to remember a password, we will send them a new 'magic' or unique link by email to the email address connected to their account. This link grants them access to the account for 24 hours using that link before it expires.
For this reason, having a valid email address on the account is really important. If possible always update your email in your Dinghy account to the one you check most regularly. This is the email we will send the vital magic link emails described above - allowing you access to your account, as well as other important service and transactional emails about your insurance.
Don't worry if you cannot remember the email address you used when you bought your policy or cannot access it any more for whatever reason. If you cannot sign in then follow these steps:
- First off, go to the smiley chatbot icon on the bottom left hand of your screen and click on it to open a conversation. If it is during office hours 9am - 6pm GMT someone will be at the other end waiting to help you straight away. If not, simply leave your email address and as soon as someone from our team becomes aware we will get back to you.
- If you are having problems with chat, email us on firstname.lastname@example.org with 'Email address update' in the subject line and someone from the customer support team will respond in 24 hours.
